The Meaning Behind the Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatchers have their origins in Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) tradition, where they were traditionally created as protective charms, particularly for sleeping children. The woven web is associated with catching bad dreams and nightmares so they cannot reach the sleeper. Teachings and interpretations vary, but good dreams are often described as being allowed to pass through, with feathers associated with carrying or guiding those dreams gently toward the sleeping person.
Our resin dreamcatchers are modern handmade decorative creations inspired by the dreamcatcher form. They are not represented as traditional Indigenous-made dreamcatchers.
